About this solar and battery referral service
Bairnsdale Solar is a referral website run by Yes Right Pty Ltd. See what happens to a solar or battery enquiry and how to check a provider in Victoria.
Bairnsdale Solar is an enquiry and referral website operated by Yes Right Pty Ltd, ABN 91 664 546 061. It takes solar panel, home battery and inverter enquiries from Bairnsdale and the East Gippsland towns around it and passes each one to an independent local provider who can assess it. That provider quotes the job and carries it out. This website does not install, repair or inspect anything itself.
We are not a solar retailer, an electrical contractor or an accredited installer. We do not claim a Bairnsdale showroom, our own installers, customer reviews or past projects, and nothing on this site should be read as a recommendation of a particular product or brand. Any photo on the site illustrates the type of work described. It is not a record of a job arranged through this website.
What happens after you send an enquiry
- You fill in the enquiry form with your suburb, contact details and a description of the system or fault.
- We read it and pass your details to one independent provider who works in your area and handles that kind of job.
- The provider contacts you to ask questions, may ask for photos, a recent power bill or a site visit, and decides whether to offer a quote.
- Any quote, contract, deposit, booking and warranty is between you and that provider.
The provider may pay Yes Right Pty Ltd a referral fee. That fee does not change what you are charged by us, because we charge you nothing. We cannot promise that a provider will be available, how soon anyone will respond, or that the job will be accepted. If the first provider cannot help, we may offer the enquiry to another one. Our privacy notice explains how your details are used and how to ask for them to be deleted.
What the provider is responsible for
The business that takes on your job is responsible for the system design, the products it supplies, compliance with Victorian electrical safety law and the Australian Standards, the grid connection application to the distributor, and the workmanship. In Victoria, solar panel and battery installations are prescribed electrical work. They must be inspected by an independent Licensed Electrical Inspector before the system is switched on, and the electrical contractor must give you a Certificate of Electrical Safety. Ask for that certificate and keep it with your house papers.
The provider is also responsible for explaining any rebate or discount it applies, any export limit the network sets, and what its warranty covers. Read the service guides for the questions worth asking about each type of job, and the Bairnsdale area page for local conditions.
How to check a solar or battery provider in Victoria
Before you sign anything, check the people named on the quote. These public registers are free to search:
| What to check | Where |
|---|---|
| The business is a Registered Electrical Contractor | Energy Safe Victoria public registers |
| The electrician holds a current electrical licence | Licensed Electrical Worker Search on the same Energy Safe page |
| The designer or installer is accredited for solar, and for batteries if one is quoted | Solar Accreditation Australia status check |
| The retailer has signed up to the voluntary consumer code | New Energy Tech Consumer Code approved sellers |
| The battery discount rules the quote relies on | Clean Energy Regulator solar batteries page |
Solar Accreditation Australia accredits individual people, not companies, so ask for the installer’s name and accreditation number before the installation date. If a Solar Homes rebate is part of the deal, the retailer must also be on Solar Victoria’s authorised retailer list.
Using this site for an enquiry
The form is for planning a new system, a battery, an upgrade, a service or a repair. It is not an emergency line. If you smell burning, see smoke or sparks, or an isolator or inverter is hot to touch, keep clear of the equipment, call 000 if there is fire, and contact your distributor or a licensed electrician directly. For anything else, send your solar or battery enquiry with your suburb, roof type, the age of any existing system and what you want it to do.
